Rumba with the Conjunto Folklórico Nacional
Rumba and guaguancó are the favourite rhythms in Gran Palenque, where the Conjunto Folklórico Nacional de Cuba shows its prestige as one of the most famous dance troupe in the world. Founded in 1982 by Rogelio Martínez Furé, el Patio de la Rumba is the origin of the folk club in Vedado that takes place every Saturday in our days. The dance company invites some guests like Yoruba Andabo, Clave y Guaguancó, Los Muñequitos de Matanzas and others for the performances.
Approximately three hours of rumba create an ambiance of authentic complicity between members of the company and visitors from around the world. There you can feel the magic of Afro-Cuban rhythms (yambú, guaguancó, conga, bombo, sartenes, claves, palo, yuka, y makuta) in a mixed crowd with kids, babalawaos, old people, musicians, foreigners, students... That’s why you must visit it. It’s an unforgettable and impressive experience.
