The way Frank Delgado denudes Cuba in his songs is always difficult to explain. Easy to recognize by the thick beard and long hair, the grace and wisdom of his lyrics, plus his undeniable musical intuition, has become one of the most followed Cuban trovadores.
As every good trovador of this island, Delgado could be easily considered as a chronicler of his time, a tastefully Cuban intellectual. Proof of it are the songs “La otra orilla” (the very best), “Cuando se vaya la luz”, “Con la adarga al brazo”, “Embajadora del sexo” and “La isla puta”.
The lyrics of his songs usually offer a critical and objective view of the Cuban reality, always in a very literary, subtle way. As for sound, his combines the best of trova and Cuban music, including a little bit of rock.
Frank Delgado’s gigs are always an invitation to have fun, intelligently. The chords of his guitar and poetry of his songs will captivate you from the start.
