On Real street #34, the city of Trinidad features now an exact replication of the popular ‘Bodeguita del Medio’, the one Hemingway frequented back in the day to enjoy his Mojito in Havana city. The second of its kind, right after the one built in Varadero, the new Bodeguita offers guests from all corners of the world a visit to one of the most important diners in Cuba, right in the colonial city in Sancti Spiritus.
Conceived to provide service to about 50 guests, the local maintains the mystic aura of the original ‘Bodeguita del Medio’, immortalized by Ernest Hemingway.
All the signature features of the local in the capital city can be found in this replica: the walls covered in the visitors’ signatures, Cuba’s traditional music and photos of celebrities of both Cuban and foreign countries who visited the restaurant. All the characteristics that make this place one of the most famous in the country are left untouched.
The preparation of homeland typical food and the regarded ‘Mojito’, drink of choice of the writer of ‘The Lost Generation’, are reborn in a place that keeps its charm, no matter how many times it’s reproduced, for it will always daze the guests with its characteristic simplicity.
