If you were looking for a place with Cuban dance and music, the Hotel Complex Saint John’s in Vedado, very close to Havana’s Malecón, is a gate for bohemians and night owls’ entertainment, starting every Tuesday,
With a varied artistic program, here you will find the most peculiar companies and excellent voices from our culture, all of whom meet on the last floor, at the Pico Blanco Bar or Rincón del Feeling (Feeling’s Spot).
A homage to the rhythms and customs from the ‘60s and ‘70s takes place every Tuesday on a night devoted to the Spanish group La Década Prodigiosa, with the presence of the famous singer-songwriter Marlon Alarcón Santana y the group La Década.
If you prefer authentically Cuban music, on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays starting 8:30 pm, it is held the Live Salsa Show, the show par excellence for a traditional bolero, a good son (songs with a lively, danceable beat) or any other musical acts as long as they are genuinely traditional ones.
Along with the salsa groups Vacilón and Salsa Unica, the female band Las Chicas del Sol y the casino group Chevere, it won’t be the Caribbean and national rhythms what you’ll miss on the aforementioned days.
And for the younger people, every Saturday they can share with their friends the Free Dance Company’s performing of the most recent musical creations from international genres such as pop, house, techno, among others.
There aren’t many views of the heart of the city like this, so you won’t want to miss it, nor the musical background that offers you all, from the peace and quiet of jazz to the exaltation produced by a good timba.
